Donald Trump Books
The Art of the Deal
Since 1987, when billionaire Donald J. Trump's first book, The Art of the Deal was published, the prolific author has written more than a dozen books including one on golf.

Why does Donald Trump write? He admits he's a bit of a teacher at heart and writing helps him to organize his thoughts and experiences.

Readers have embraced his wisdom. All of Donald Trump's personally written books have been bestsellers.

Several years ago Donald Trump was asked to recommend a summer reading list from his own published works. His choices were: The Art of the Deal, The Art of the Comeback, The America We Deserve, The Best Real Estate Advice I Ever Received, Trump 101: The Way to Success, Why We Want You To Be Rich, and Think Like a Champion.

In addition to his personal bibliography, there are several books in the Trump Entrepreneur Initiative Series (formerly Trump University) that Donald Trump co-created with respected experts in the business world. Topics include asset protection, branding, commercial real estate, entrepreneurship, marketing, real estate, and wealth building.

Are there any Donald Trump books in your library?

Donald Trump
Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you're generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don't make.

DONALD TRUMP BOOK LIST
Trump: The Art of the Deal
Billionaire Donald Trump has written more than a dozen books, and Trump: The Art of the Deal, a #1 National Bestseller, was his first. The year was 1987 and the real estate magnate had just turned 40. Billed as a commonsense guide to personal finance, the book provides behind-the-scenes glimpses of the blockbuster deals that changed Manhattan's skyline. The first chapter outlines a typical week in the life of a deal maker, and it leaves the reader exhausted.

"I usually arrive at my office by nine, and I get on the phone. There's rarely a day with fewer than fifty calls, and often it runs to over a hundred," admits Trump.

With assistance from business author Tony Schwartz, Donald Trump discusses the characteristics he feels were essential to his success, and his early real estate experiences with his father, a successful New York developer. The book is dedicated to Donald Trump's parents, Fred and Mary Trump.

Donald Trump
I don't do it for the money. I've got enough, much more than I'll ever need. I do it to do it. Deals are my art form.

Trump: The Art of the Comeback
In The Art of the Comeback, real estate billionaire Donald Trump describes how he managed to achieve one of the most astounding financial comebacks in history. He was billions of dollars in debt, and worse yet—his once-busy phone had stopped ringing.

The self-proclaimed poster child of the recession recalls his lowest point. It happened on March 26, 1991 when both The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal ran front-page articles predicting his demise. The stories were broadcast all over the world, and it truly appeared that the real estate titan was all washed up.

Not so fast! Donald Trump was no quitter. With assistance from author Kate Bohner, Donald Trump reveals the steps he took to bargain with his creditors and come back stronger and wealthier than ever.

Donald Trump
I began to prosper a long time before the newspapers and other media acknowledged it. Apart from realizing my modest success, the media was, in fact, gleefully predicting my collapse -- at a time when I knew I was coming on strong.

Trump: How to Get Rich
Big Deals From the Star of The Apprentice
It's safe to assume that Donald Trump knows a thing or two about getting rich, and he's more than happy to share the formula with his fans and readers.

In How To Get Rich, the famous billionaire reiterates some of the themes from his previous books—the importance of staying focused and having passion for what you do, the critical need for attention to details, and the necessity to surround yourself with people you trust. There are entertaining stories peppered throughout.

You'll learn why Donald Trump hates to shake hands, and how he tests the mettle of his novice apprentices. Donald Trump wrote this book 17 years after his first bestseller, The Art of the Deal, and noted that most of his observations were still valid. The last paragraph of that book read, "Don't get me wrong. I also plan to keep making deals, big deals, and right around the clock."

Donald Trump
"How To Get Rich." That's what I decided to call it, because whenever I meet people, that's usually what they want to know from me. You ask a baker how he makes bread. You ask a billionaire how he makes money.

Trump: The Way to the Top
The Best Business Advice I Ever Received
According to real estate billionaire Donald J. Trump, it's foolish to rely on learning from your own mistakes when experts are willing to share the wisdom gained through their own experiences.

The world's most famous CEO asked the brightest and most successful businessmen and women to share the best business advice they ever received.

Their answers comprise The Way to the Top, which includes sage tips from people who successfully run companies, both large and small. Contributors include: Frederick W. Smith, Chairman and CEO of FedEx Corporation; Roxanne Quimby, President of Burt's Bees; George Zimmer, CEO of Men's Wearhouse; Lillian Vernon, Founding Chairman of the Lillian Vernon Catalogs; Gerard J. Arpey, President and CEO of American Airlines; and Christie Hefner, Chairman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises, Inc.

Donald Trump
There's no excuse for making the same mistakes that others have made. If you do, it's your own fault and you should expect no sympathy, no compassion.

Trump: Think Like a Billionaire
Everything You Need to Know About Success, Real Estate, and Life
The billionaires' club is an exclusive one—in a world of six billion people, fewer than 600 are billionaires. In Think Like a Billionaire, real estate mogul Donald J. Trump shares a few of the characteristics that set billionaires apart from the rest of the crowd.

For example, billionaires seldom do what's conventional or expected of them. Rather, they stay true to their vision, even in the face of criticism and doubt. Interestingly, Donald Trump has only met a handful of his billionaire brethren, and usually on the golf course. They seldom discuss their portfolios. As you might expect, conversations tend to focus on the game of golf.

In the book, co-authored with Meredith McIver, Donald Trump shares tips on how to think like a billionaire. He includes practical advice on investing in real estate, and discusses why it's important for property owners to care about details like landscaping and interior decorating.

Donald Trump
Don't take vacations. What's the point? If you're not enjoying your work, you're in the wrong job. Even when I'm playing golf, I'm doing business. I never stop, and I'm usually having fun.

Trump: The Best Golf Advice I Ever Received
Donald Trump, executive producer and star of the megahit show The Apprentice asked colleagues, playing companions, and golf professionals to share their best golf tips—everything from the technical aspects of swinging to the mental game.

It's a game Donald Trump knows well, a sport he enjoys with passion. The Best Golf Advice I Ever Received features over 200 entries, an excellent resource for any golf enthusiast. Learn from professional golfers Arnold Palmer, Phil Mickelson, and Vijay Singh, actor Michael Douglas, entertainer Pat Boone, and news anchor Stone Phillips.

Yogi Berra's advice won't improve your golf score, but it's delivered in the Yankee Hall of Famer's inimitable style:

"One time I was complaining that my shot was going to wind up in the water. So my friend Kevin Carroll told me that I should think positive. I told him okay, I was positive my shot was going to wind up in the water."

Donald Trump
Somewhere out there are a few men with more innate talent at golf than Jack Nicklaus, or women with greater ability at tennis than Chris Evert or Martina Navratilova, but they will never lift a club or swing a racket and therefore will never find out how great they could have been. Instead, they'll be content to sit and watch stars perform on television.

Why We Want You to Be Rich
Two Men, One Message
Donald J. Trump and Robert T. Kiyosaki are bestselling authors who fear for the future of America. As highly successful entrepreneurs -- one a millionaire, one a billionaire -- both are acutely aware of an alarming trend in the United States.

The middle class appears to be shrinking, thus posing a threat to the stability of the national economy. As Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki see it, America is fast becoming a two-class society. As the middle class disappears, citizens will be relegated to one of two clases, the rich or the poor.

The financial advice for the poor is that the government will take care of them. The financial advice for the rich is provided in Why We Want You To Be Rich. Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki want you to be rich so you can be part of the solution, rather than part of the problem.

As the authors observe, "The rich are getting richer, but are you?"

Robert T. Kiyosaki
If you are not doing what you love, then start doing it, even if it is only part-time.

Think Big
Make It Happen in Business and Life
Think Big: Make It Happen in Business and Life is a collaborative work between billionaire Donald Trump and Bill Zanker, founder of The Learning Annex. Bill Zanker was already successful, having grown The Learning Annex to a $5 million a year company from an initial $5,000 investment.

However, after meeting Donald Trump and learning to Think Big, Bill Zanker's business grew to $100 million a year in sales and shows no signs of slowing down.

Learn the secrets of thinking big, including momentum (how to get it or get it back), revenge (how and when to get it, and why it's so sweet), and the importance of contracts in both your business and personal affairs. You'll hear real-life stories from several people who've successfully incorporated BIG thinking in their everyday lives.

Donald Trump says that only 2% of the population has the ability to Think Big. Learn how to join their ranks.

Donald Trump
I like thinking big. I always have. To me it’s very simple: if you’re going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big.

The America We Deserve
What do you think about Donald Trump as president? The world-famous billionaire admits he'd consider a run. In fact, in a well-documented poll leading up the 2000 election, Donald Trump came in second—behind George W. Bush, but ahead of then vice president, Al Gore.

"Nobody ever accused me of modesty, but it's a tremendous honor to have millions of people considering you for high office when you didn't seek it out," responded Trump.

As he sees it, Americans are actively looking to support candidates who come from outside politics, candidates who are "straight-talking, straight-shooting, and beholden to no one." Donald Trump is living the American Dream, and he'd like for everyone to have an equal chance to achieve it. In The America We Deserve, he discusses the major political problems facing the country, and offers practical solutions for solving them.

Donald Trump
Yes, I am considering a run for the presidency of the United States. I will run if I become convinced I can win. Two things are certain at this point, however: I believe non-politicians represent the wave of the future and if elected I would make the kind of president America needs in the new millennium.

Trump: The Best Real Estate Advice I Ever Received
100 Top Experts Share Their Strategies
Billionaire real estate mogul and star of The Apprentice, Donald J. Trump asked 100 of the world's most successful real estate developers to share the strategies that have worked best for them. Their answers are presented essay-style in The Best Real Estate Advice I Ever Received.

The book features advice from real estate industry giants Jonathan Tisch, Leonard Lauder, Larry Silverstein, and Stephen Leopold. If you're looking for a "how-to" manual to walk you through the process of building your own real estate portfolio, this book is probably not for you—the contents are more inspirational than instructional.

However, it's always important to learn from people at the top of their game. Learn strategies that can be applied to your own real estate investing, especially in an uncertain real estate market.

Donald Trump
Money was never a big motivation for me, except as a way to keep score. The real excitement is playing the game.

Trump 101
The Way to Success
Everyone knows that Donald Trump is rich, but most are probably not aware of the various entities included in his vast portfolio. For example, in addition to international hotels and properties, The Trump Organization owns several golf clubs and resorts, as well as several casino resorts.

There are restaurants, a caterer, a full-service travel agency, and bottled spring water, all bearing the Trump brand. Donald Trump even manufactures a signature line of menswear, including suits, cuff links, neckwear, eyewear, timepieces, and a men's fragrance called, well ... Trump: The Fragrance.

There is no one better equipped than Donald Trump to teach success, and in Trump 101: The Way to Success, he talks about passion, the key to his own success.

"My passion spills over to everyone around me and motivates them to do their very best."

Donald Trump
Don't waste your life on work you don't love; passion will help you do better. Passion is absolutely necessary to achieve any kind of long-lasting success.

Trump: Never Give Up
How I Turned My Biggest Challenges into Success
Did you know that Donald Trump's phenomenally successful series The Apprentice was originally considered a big mistake? The billionaire's highly compensated agent advised him to pass on the concept.

A business show of its kind had never been successful in prime time, and the agent was reluctant to allow his high-profile client to fall flat on his face.

But Donald Trump decided to trust his gut. He had made an agreement with the show's creator and executive producer, Mark Burnett, and Donald Trump's word was as good as a contract. The Apprentice went into production and the rest is history.

And the agent? He later came calling to request a multi-million dollar commission after The Apprentice beat all odds and attained the number one spot on NBC's prime time lineup. Donald Trump responded by sending him a brief letter which read—you guessed it—You're Fired!

Donald Trump
I try to learn from the past, but I plan for the future by focusing exclusively on the present. That's where the fun is.
